Hardwood Flooring
Wood flooring is more popular than ever. Wood is pratical, cozy, and never goes out of style. The various species, finishes and installation techinques of hardwood make it a great addition to your home.
Types of hard wood: Wood floors are produced in both solid and engineered
planks and strips and come in all different wood species.
Solid wood floors: Solid wood floors are one solid piece of wood and are usually 3/4" thick. Because solid hardwood is more susceptible to humidity and temperture
changes than engineered wood, it should be installed above grade over approved wooden sub floors and be nailed or stapled down.
Engineered wood floors: This hardwood floor is produced by laminating several hardwood piles together to form planks. Almost all engineered floors can be glued, stapled, or floated on a varity of subfloors including wood and concrete. The cross-ply construction of engineered wood reduces expansion and contraction caused by
weather changes, so it can be installed almost anywhere in your home.
